It is the last few days of May in the Cherry Hill neighbourhood of Baltimore and for Charisma and Tanika it is going to be a summer they will never forget. Both women grew up in the area, attending the same school and both are twenty-one years of age. Although they grew up in close proximity of each other they never mixed at school and while they frequent same of the same clubs and find themselves at some of the same parties they have never spoken.
They are aware of each other, of course, and both being unashamedly queer, there is something of an attraction between them – unspoken and never acted upon but there bubbling under the surface.
Then there is Channelle. The Ink Witch tattoo shop has been open for two years now and owned by Channelle who is a very promising tattoo artist in the Baltimore scene. At twenty-six years of age Channelle is older and wiser than both Charisma and Tanika but she is also loud, brash, uninhibited and often a little too impulsive. Channelle is also queer and very vocal about it.
Charisma and Tanika both know Channelle, often seeing her at parties and nightclubs and both women are very attracted to her. This is where the trouble begins as both women have decided to make their intentions known at the same time. Both women find themselves flirting with Channelle – often at the same time – leading to a growing tension between them.
For her part Channelle is attracted to them both and loves the attention they are giving her and the idea of having two women fighting over her, to this end she stokes the fires and plays them against each other helping to further increase the tension between them.
Over the course of the summer tensions spill over and Charisma and Tanika find themselves on a journey that neither of them would, or could, have ever predicted.
